Snoring Surgery

Sleep Apnea and Snoring Solutions

Believe it or not – you don’t have to live with snoring! There are a number of different treatments for sleep apnea and snoring. The best place to start is a consultation with Dr. Spiegel. During that initial interview we can find out about your complaints and symptoms and typically a sleep test is ordered. A sleep test is an overnight visit where your sleeping habits are closely monitored. The results can tell us if you suffer from sleep apnea or snoring and to what degree.

For patients with severe sleep apnea surgical intervention is recommended and varies depending on your anatomy. For patients with mild to moderate apnea or snoring Dr. Spiegel often recommends the Pillar™ Palatal Implant System. Restore’s “Pillar Procedure” is an exciting and innovative solution to snoring. Three small implants are placed in the soft palate tissue causing the area to stiffen over time and allow air to move properly during sleep and reduce the vibrating sounds associated with snoring. The procedure only requires an office visit, as Dr. Spiegel is able to place the implants into the soft palate in just a few minutes. Patients typically see an improvement in their snoring after 4-8 weeks and often see long lasting results allowing for better sleep for themselves and loved ones. Currently, the Pillar Procedure is not covered by insurance.
